Using Drag and Drop from Viewport to Viewport
Introduction
You can move, copy, swap or fuse images or series from one image viewport to another with drag and drop.

Synapse does not support displaying multiple patients in the Viewer. If you attempt to drag a different patient series into a viewport, Synapse displays a warning message. |
Steps
- Select a study.
- Do any of the following options:
If you want to do this...
Do this...
Swap images or series from one viewport to another.
- Place your cursor on the image you want to move.
- Click and hold the mouse button.
- Drag and drop the image or series to the target viewport.
Results: Synapse swaps the image or series between the source viewport and the target viewport.
Replace an image or series from one viewport to another.
- Place your cursor on the image you want to move.
- Click and hold the mouse button to select the image then press and hold the SHIFT key.
- Move your cursor to a different viewport.
- Release the mouse button.
Results: The image or series is relocated to the new viewport. If the target window already contains a series, the series will be replaced. The source viewport is now empty.
Copy an image or series from one viewport to another.
- Place your cursor on the image you want to move.
- Click and hold the mouse button then press and hold the CTRL key.
- Drag and drop the series into another viewport.
Results: The series is copied to the target viewport. If the target viewport contains a series, the target series will be replaced by the new series.
Fuse two applicable series.
Additional Options
You can click and drag a series or image to a different viewport and hold until Synapse displays a context menu with these options: copy, replace, swap or fusion.
