Setting Options for Network Usage
Introduction
You can change image quality and network usage options when your network performance is slow. When you enable Sync During Scroll, Synapse enables synchronization during scrolling.
Steps
- From the Viewer, click Tools
to display the drop-down list.
- Select one of the following options from the Tools drop-down list:

Enable Optimize Network Usage. Note: Because images are transferred by JPEG compression, Synapse displays on the image the text overlay: Clinical Image. |
Select Optimize Network. When enabled, Synapse highlights this option in green. |
Disable Optimize Network Usage. |
Select the highlighted Optimize Network Usage option to deselect it. When disabled, Synapse removes the green highlighting. |
Note: |
If you select the Optimize Network Usage setting with Hybrid Mode, Hybrid Mode uses clinical PNG images. Clinical JPEG images will be used for images that are not cached on Hybrid Mode. |
- For Sync During Scroll, choose one of the options from the Tools drop-down list :

Synchronize scrolling for all linked images in the Viewer. |
Select Sync During Scroll. When enabled, Synapse highlights this option in green. |
Discontinue synchronize scrolling for all linked images. When you stop scrolling, Synapse updates to the correct image in all linked viewports. |
Select the highlighted Sync During Scroll option deselect it. When disabled, Synapse removes the green highlighting. |
Results
Synapse automatically updates the Viewer with the new options.
