Z-Score Tables

Boston Congenital Module

Clinical Reporting Application (CRA) calculates congenital normative data for many common measurements and calculations. The following tables provide definitions of the values for the available normative data, as well as their valid limits.

Note:

  • To improve accuracy, Synapse uses more significant digits for calculating z-score values than is displayed in CRA.
  • Synapse z-score calculations might be different from other external Boston Z-Score calculators due to version differences.

CRA requires the patient’s age and BSA in order to generate normative data for a congenital measurement or calculation. The body surface area is based on the method published by Haycock, Schwartz, and Wisotsky (height is assumed to be in centimeters and weight in kilograms).

BSA = 0.024265 * (0.3964 * Height) * (0.5378 * Weight)

  • CRA requires the GA to generate fetal normative data for a measurement or calculation. The Gestational Age (GA) is determined from the Estimated Date of Confinement (EDC).
