Content Manager Overview
Introduction
Content Manager is a drag-and-drop interface that allows you to move, merge, reallocate, and delete patients, studies, series, and images. Content Manager contains folders that are created by predefined database queries.
When you open a folder, Synapse executes the query, which causes the results to be displayed on the Synapse workstation. For example, the Recent Removed Items folder is a query that searches for items removed within the last seven days.

The User Interface
See the Content Manager Features for a description of the user interface and icons.
Path
Page Status
At the end of the path, before the icons, messages display indicating the status of the page. These statuses include:
- Working - The operation is currently looking for content.
- Failed - The operation did not complete successfully.
- No Data Found - The folder is empty.
Search Fields
Throughout Content Manager, Query by Example search boxes display at the top of each column. Use the search boxes to filter the page and display only what you are searching for.
For example, if you are looking for a patient with the ID of 1234567, enter the ID in the Patient ID Query by Example search box to filter out all other patients.
Non-Displayable Items
Synapse cannot display non-displayable DICOM items that come with a study. Only the UID of the item display, for example, text files or pdf files.
