Creating Public Collections Folders

Introduction

You can share any of the Collections folders you create, making them public and giving access to other users. This feature allows all other users to view, add, and delete studies and Snapshots that have been saved to a Collections folder.

Note:

  • If you create a Snapshot and add it to a Collections folder, your name displays in the SS Owner column. If another user adds that same Snapshot to a shared Collections folder, that user's name displays in the Added By column and your name still displays in the SS Owner column.
  • You cannot share the My Collection folder.
  • You cannot create a new Collections folder directly in the Public Collections folder; you must select a previously created Collections folder to share.

Steps

  1. Right-click a Collections folder that you have previously created and want to share with all other users.
  2. Select Sharing - Make Public.

Note:

  • To make a Collections folder private again and remove it from the Public Collections list, right-click the Collections folder and select Sharing - Make private.
  • Nested Collections folders share the settings of parent folder. As you change the setting for the parent Collections folder, any nested folders will take on the same attributes.

Results

  • The Collections folder you shared is now available for other users under the Public Collections header in the Worklist pane, and displays Public Folders .
  • Any user can now view, add, and delete the studies and Snapshots that have been saved to a Collections folder.
  • Hover over any of the folders in the Public Collections folder to view the folder owner's name.
