Using INVIA 4DM

Introduction

You can launch INVIA 4DM from nuclear medicine images in the Viewer for a current study or a prior study. Prior studies are read-only.

Note:

  • If the INVIA 4DM workstation has a prior study loaded and you open another prior study, the first prior study is replaced when the second prior study launches INVIA 4DM.
  • If the current and prior studies are both launched in INVIA 4DM and you close the INVIA 4DM session with the current study, the INVIA 4DM session with the prior study also closes.
  • If INVIA 4DM and the Viewer are out of sync with a prior study, you will need to manually launch a new prior study for comparison.
  • If you launch INVIA 4DM using a shortcut key, Synapse launches the study in the currently focused viewport.

Prerequisite

To launch INVIA 4DM, you must comply with the following prerequisites:

  • Have Synapse Desktop Agent installed on your workstation.
  • Have a licensed version of INVIA 4DM software installed and configured on your workstation.

Note:

  • The context menu options for launching INVIA 4DM are only available when the integration plugin status is Ready in Desktop Agent for configured procedures.
  • To automatically launch a current study in INVIA 4DM from the Viewer, the Workflow > Nuclear Quantification setting must be selected. See Configuring Workflow Settings.
  • If you change the INVIA 4DM settings from active to inactive, refresh the browser or the Viewer.

Steps

  1. Open a nuclear medicine study with configured images from the Worklist.
  2. Select one of the following options for launching INVIA 4DM for a current or prior study.
  3. If you want to ...

    Complete these steps

Launch INVIA 4DM from the Icon menu.

Right-click the image and select the Launch INVIA 4DM icon.

Launch INVIA 4DM from the List context menu.

Right-click the image and select Clinical Applications > Launch INVIA 4DM.

Launch INVIA 4DM from the Series Picker context menu.

Right-click a thumbnail in the Series Picker and select Launch INVIA 4DM.

Launch INVIA 4DM from the Anywhere Series Picker context menu.

Right-click a thumbnail in the Anywhere Series Picker and select Launch INVIA 4DM.

Synapse displays a progress message while it is sending images to INVIA 4DM and launching the application.

  4. Use INVIA 4DM to complete an advanced quantification and analysis for the current study and then save those changes to a DICOM SC and XML file, which are then uploaded to Synapse.

    Note:

Synapse only supports the INVIA 4DM Composite v7.0 file format.

  5. The file upload might take a few minutes. When Synapse receives the new content, the Arrival Notification icon displays.
  6. Note:

Synapse displays a message if the file upload fails and attempts to resend the file. If any file uploads fail, the data and images files are copied to a 3rdpartyuploads directory in their respective Data or Images subdirectories. Synapse deletes files that are more than one day old and no further attempts to upload occur.

  7. Do one of the following:
    • In the Viewer, click Arrival Notification and then refresh the Viewer to add the newly uploaded Corridor 4DM Results thumbnail in the Series Picker and Anywhere Series Picker. See Using the DICOM SR/PDF Viewer.
    • In the AR Report, view and make changes as needed. See Creating and Editing a Report.
  8. Optional: Launch INVIA 4DM from the Corridor 4DM Results thumbnail.

Results

For Advanced Reporting (AR) studies, when the export of the XML file is complete, the measurement data automatically populates the AR Report, where you can make additional changes.

When INVIA 4DM is launched again for a previously saved study, Synapse sends the complete study and the results file to INVIA 4DM for further analysis.

Note:

When additional images are acquired after the third party result file is generated, you must manually import these images in the third party application. For additional information, refer to the third party application documentation.
