Reservation Privileges

To work with the studies in the Reservations folder, you must have specific reservation and dictation privileges associated with your user roles. Reservation and dictation privileges are configured in the SWAT tool by your System Administrator and determine who can dictate reports, create reservations, and manage reservations. The following table shows some of the common user roles and the default reservation and dictation privileges associated with those roles for non-AR procedures. Additional user roles can also be defined. See your System Administrator for more information.

Note:

Advanced Reporting (AR) users do not require dictation privileges.

When you attempt to save an annotation for a locked AR study, or another user has saved an annotation (for that study) since you loaded the AR study, a message displays stating that Synapse did not save the annotation.

Administration, Radiologist

Allow changing study status to Dictated.
  • Allow the user to update the study status to Dictated by using the F8 key or F12 key. Users with this privilege automatically have privileges to create reservations and preliminary reports and to manage reservations.
  • Reserve for me and Unreserve are available.

Administration, Radiologist, Resident

Create reservations and preliminary reports
  • Allows the user to reserve a study and create a preliminary report. Users with this privilege automatically have privileges to manage reservations.
  • Reserve for me and Unreserve are available.

Administration, Radiologist, Resident, Technologist, Clinician

Manage Reservations
  • Allows the user to reserve and unreserve reservations for other users.
  • Allows the user to unreserve reservations for himself or herself.
  • Reserve for me is not available to the user with just this privilege.
 

Note:

If your site has upgraded from Synapse 4.x to a later version of Synapse, see your System Administrator to ensure that the appropriate Reservation privilege is added to any custom roles that are required to work with Reservations.
