Roles and Privileges
Roles
Roles are predefined sets of privileges associated with individual Synapse users. Roles use privilege settings to establish which actions Synapse users are authorized to perform. Synapse is configured with the following default roles.
- Generic roles:
- Administration
- Administration With Cardiology
- AR Master
- Cardiologist
- Clinician
- Radiologist
- Referring Physician
- Referring Physician (Restricted)
- Resident
- Service Access Role
- Settings Only Access
- Technologist
- Transcriptionist
- Reserved roles:
- SWAT Synapse Administrator
- SWAT Synapse App Eng (Application Engineer)
Privileges
Privilege settings determine whether users in a given role have certain functions within Synapse. Each role within Synapse is customizable, allowing System Administrators to assign privileges as needed.
Options can be configured as unavailable or disabled in the Synapse interface for users who do not require privileges to use those options.
