Adding Snapshots to a Synapse Chat Session

Introduction

With Synapse Chat and the Viewer open, you can add Snapshots from the Viewer to a chat session without leaving your active screen. This Synapse Chat feature provides you with a more efficient workflow in addition to the convenience of a live chat session.

Steps

  1. Open a study in the Viewer.
  2. Click Synapse Chat . The Synapse Chat window displays.
  3. Click located on the bottom of the chat session window.

Note:

  • To add a snapshot to a chat session, you must have a study open in the Viewer.
  • You have the option to save Snapshots from a remote Synapse datasource (a Global Worklist) to a Synapse Chat session.
  • If the Snapshot you saved from a remote Synapse datasource is renamed in the remote Synapse datasource, the name will not automatically update in your chat session.
  1. Select from the following options:  

If you want to do this...

Choose this option...

Add a snapshot to your chat session.

Click Yes to the prompt: A snapshot of your current viewer session will be added to Synapse Chat. Do you want to continue?  

Close the prompt and do not add a snapshot to your chat session.

Click Cancel to the prompt: A snapshot of your current viewer session will be added to Synapse Chat Do you want to continue?

Not see the prompt until the next time you log back into Synapse.

Select the check box next to the prompt: Do not show this message again.

Results

  • The snapshot displays in your chat session and is visible to all participants.
  • Double-click the snapshot in the chat session to open it in the Viewer.
  • To preview the snapshot, hover your mouse over the snapshot for two seconds.
    • The snapshot preview displays until you move your mouse outside the preview area.
    • To zoom, pan, or interact with the images in any way, double-click to open in the Viewer.
