Synapse Chat Overview
Introduction
Synapse Chat provides the ability for Synapse users to communicate with one another within the Synapse application. You can initiate a chat with one or more active users, or even start a conversation with someone who is offline, but can receive the chat once they log on. When you need instant feedback or another set of eyes, use Synapse Chat to brainstorm, think out loud, and share ideas. To provide a quick visual for clarity and understanding, you can add snapshots and screen shots to a chat.
- The Synapse Chat icon displays alerts as configured within User Settings > Chat (such as audible, flashing, color). ]
- To view or initiate a chat session, click Synapse Chat , located next to your user name.
- In the Viewer, the Synapse Chat icon is located in the Viewer toolbar.
- Dynamic typing helps you to quickly locate and add individual users or all users assigned to a particular role to Synapse Chat.
- A bright green icon displays next to logged in users' names, so you can easily identify who is active and who is inactive.
- Synapse Chat search functionality makes it easy to locate any information contained in a chat you initiate or participate in.
- Preview a snapshot or screen capture right in the active chat session simply by hovering your mouse over it.
