Adding an Arrow to an Image

Introduction

Use the Arrow option to add an arrow with text to point to an area of interest on an image. If an image is in multiple locations such as Bookmarks and All Images, the annotations display on all of these images.

Steps

  1. Right-click the image to display a context menu.
  2. Select Annotations > Arrow.
  3. Click the area of interest on the image and drag the mouse to create an arrow.
  4. Optional: Add text when the text box opens.
  5. Optional: Manipulate arrows by doing any of the following:

    If you want to ...

    Do this ...

    Change the text.

    • Double-click the text box and retype the text.
    • When you finish changing the text, click outside the text box.

    Not add text to the arrow.

    • Press the ESC key

          or

    • Click away from the annotation.

    Move the Arrow.

    • Click the arrow.
    • Drag the arrow to another location on the image.

    Reposition the Arrow and the Text Box.

    • Click the arrow between the endpoints, but do not click the endpoints of the arrow.
    • Drag and drop the arrow or text box to a new location on the image.

    Resize the Arrow.

    • Click an endpoint of the arrow.
    • Dragged the endpoint so the arrow is the size you want.

    Delete the Arrow.

    • Right-click the arrow and click DELETE.

           or

    • Select the arrow and press the DELETE key.

Results

An arrow or annotated arrow is added to the image.

Additional Options

Use any one of the following options to add an arrow:

  • Click Arrow on the icon menu. 
  • Arrow keyboard shortcut: A + left-click.
