Configuring the Edge Browser

Introduction

Careful attention to browser configuration settings helps to ensure the best Synapse performance. Default settings usually need modification. For example, default settings in Edge can negatively affect your ability to open PowerJacket and Viewer windows at the same time, if pop-up blocker policies are applied to PowerJacket.

Note:

  • You must install the FUJIFILM Synapse Extension to ensure maximum browser support. See Browser Considerations.
  • If you use the Clinical Reporting Application (CRA), you must install the Synapse Extension.

The Edge browser provides several options that you can use to configure sleep time for your computer.

  1. Navigate to Settings > System and performance.
  2. Choose the preferred sleep setting for your computer:

Choose this option...

If you want to do this...

Save Resources with sleeping tabs

  • Select this option to make the following two options available.
  • Deselect this option to inactivate sleep mode completely.

Put inactive tabs to sleep after the specified amount of time

  • Select this option to set the preferred sleep mode for all tabs. This setting applies to all internet sites and pages, unless you select and configure the Never put these sites to sleep option.

Never put these sites to sleep

  • Enter the Synapse URL to exclude it from this setting.

Note: This is the recommended setting. If you select this setting, there is no need to configure the previous two sleep settings.

    • Without setting this option, if you leave the CRA and Viewer idle for a period of time, CRALite goes into sleep mode and any attempt to save a report will time out and fail.

Disabling Profile Syncing

Disable Profile Syncing to have a specific profile with the expected settings and extensions that are required for Synapse.
