Deleting Selected Series

Introduction

You can delete one or more series from the Series Picker in the Worklist, PowerJacket, and Viewer and in the Anywhere Series Picker using the Series Picker context menu and the Series Management > Delete Selected Series option. The Delete Selected Series option is not supported for datasources earlier than version 7.1.

The Delete Selected Series option does not support deletion of virtual series, single-frame image series, bookmarks, All Images, or Structured Reports (SR) and non-DICOM images.

Prerequisites

The Delete Selected Series option requires the Workstation Series Deletion permission. See your System Administrator for more information.

Steps

  1. Press CTRL + left-click a series, to select a series for deletion in the Series Picker or Anywhere Series Picker. A check mark displays in the upper-left corner of each series you select.
  2. Optional: Press CTRL + left-click the series again, to clear a selected series.
  3. Right-click one of the selected series and select Series Management > Delete Selected Series. The Series Deletion dialog box displays the following information:
    • The number of items that can be deleted and the number of items that cannot be deleted.
    • Patient information:
      • Patient Name
      • Date of Birth
      • Medical Record Number
    • Study information:
      • Study flag
      • Accession Number
      • Data Source
      • Study Description
      • Study Date
    • A list of the series you selected. A check mark indicates an item can be removed. Any series that cannot be removed are grayed out. Each item includes:
      • A thumbnail image
      • Series name
      • Image count
    • A message displays stating the Viewer will automatically refresh.
  4. Optional: Clear the check box for any series you do not want to delete in the Series Deletion dialog box. If you clear all of the check boxes and there are no series selected for deletion, the Delete button is grayed out.
  5. Click Delete to complete the series deletion operation or Cancel to exit the dialog box. If any report data or annotations need to be saved, a dialog box opens where you can save these changes before proceeding with the series deletion. A message displays while the selected series are being removed.

Results

When the Delete operation completes, the Series Deletion dialog box closes and the following takes place:

  • The deleted series are removed from the PowerJacket Series Picker and Anywhere Series Picker.
  • The Viewer automatically refreshes.
  • In the Content Manager, the series that were removed are listed in the Recently Removed Items and the Removed Items folders.

Note:

In the Worklist after you complete a series deletion for an MG study, you need to perform a manual refresh to update the series thumbnail and the Series Picker views.
