Displaying Non-DICOM Objects in the Viewer
Introduction
You can view non-DICOM objects in the Viewer. Objects include images, documents, and videos. Synapse supports the use of pan and zoom on non-DICOM files; video files are excluded. See Using Pan and Zoom with Non-DICOM Images
Synapse supports and displays the following non-DICOM file types:

For non-DICOM file types that are not supported, such as AVI and MPEG, you can download the file.

The full screen option in the video player toolbar is not supported and might cause the Viewer to resize. |
Steps
- Open a study with non-DICOM images associated with the study in the Viewer.
- Do one of the following:
If you want to do this...
Complete these steps...
Display the non-DICOM object in a viewport.
Drag and drop a non-DICOM object from the Series Picker into a viewport.
Display the non-DICOM object in a Series Viewer.
Double-click the non-DICOM object in the Series Picker.
- Use the following options if needed:

Description
Click to move to the next non-DICOM image.
Click to move to the previous non-DICOM image.
- Optional: If Synapse does not support a file type, click Download to download the file. Check with your System Administrator to ensure that you have the applicable software installed to be able to view the file type.
- Use the mouse wheel to scroll through the non-DICOM images.
