VNA Viewer Overview
Introduction
Synapse displays DICOM and non-DICOM images in the Viewer and the Series Picker from a configured VNA datasource.
When you access a VNA datasource, the thumbnails in Series Picker have the following differences:
- Synapse displays all non-DICOM images associated with a study in one thumbnail in the Series Picker.
- Synapse displays all non-DICOM files from a patient level folder as individual thumbnails.
- The image count is the number of non-DICOM object in that thumbnail.
- At the study level, Synapse does not auto populate the Viewer with the non-DICOM images; however, you can drag and drop the non-DICOM thumbnail into a viewport.
- At the patient level, Synapse displays the first non-DICOM image in the Viewer in a 1-up page layout.

- MG breast bounds and height alignment
- Legacy presentation state
- Bookmarked thumbnails in Series Picker
- Saved annotations
- Save to PACs
- Bookmarks
- Dictation
- Snapshots
- Synapse 4.x
Note: |
VNA does not support saving annotations. If the state is reloaded, the annotations do not persist. |
