Document Scanning Overview
Introduction
Paper documents can be scanned through PowerJacket. Synapse adds the scanned images to the associated study. You can start a scan from PowerJacket by selecting the Documents information panel and clicking Scan.
Permissions and Settings
Scanning permissions per user and scan settings per site are managed by your System Administrator.
Minimum Requirements
Workstation CPU, memory, and system bus speeds are important factors affecting scanning performance. See the scanner manufacturer’s minimum requirements and contact your System Administrator if you are having problems with performance.
Document Storage
Documents require storage space, and Synapse supports one storage location for all documents. To ensure that document storage does not fill up all available storage space on the server, the System Administrator at your site should analyze the number of documents per year and the average size of the document file.
