Exporting MPR Images

Introduction

If you need to send an MPR/3D series to a facility that does not have the 3D application, you can create 2D reconstructed images from an MPR/3D series. Synapse adds these 2D reconstructed images to the study and to the Series Picker.

Steps

  1. Right-click the MPR/3D series to display a context menu.
  2. Select Export > Export Image to open the Export dialog box.
  3. Select Save to PACS from the drop-down list. Synapse automatically selects 3D Representation in the Scope section.
  4. Do any of the following in the Scope section:

    If you want to ...

    Do this ...

    Save some of the slices.

    • Enter the number of images in the Num of Slices text box.
    • Note: You can only save the slice you have currently selected and forward. For example, if you are on slice 33 of 66 slices, you cannot save slices 1 through 32.

Save all the slices in the study.

    • Select All Slices.

Save the slices in a stack.

    • Select Parallel.
    • Enter the slab thickness in the text box in mm.

Rotate the output slices at a particular angle.

    • Select Rotate.
    • Enter the number of degrees in the text box. The number of degrees is an integer one to 45.
    • Select Vertical or Horizontal.
    • Example: If you select 30 degrees, the output slices are angled at 30 degrees
  5. In the Output section, add a description in the Series Description text box.
  6. Optional: Click Preview to review the slices.
  7. Click Export to save the slices as a 2D series. Synapse displays a new image Arrival Notification in the viewport.
  8. Click the new image Arrival Notification and click Refresh to refresh the Viewer.

Results

Synapse refreshes the Viewer, adds the 2D series to the study, and displays the 2D series in the Series Picker.
