Highlighting Controls in Reports

Introduction

Clinical Reporting Application (CRA) supports highlighting controls and fields within a report for emphasis in the Workspace and the Report Preview. While you are editing a finalized report, CRA highlights any changes that were made to more easily review them, before you save the final amendment. Carry Over findings are also highlighted.

If you want to manually highlight a control for emphasis, you must have create and edit report privileges.

Steps

  1. To highlight a control, right-click the control label in the report Workspace and select Highlight Control/s from the control menu. If the control was configured to display in the Preview, Synapse highlights the control in yellow in the Workspace and Preview panes.
  2. To remove the highlight for a control, right-click the control label in the report Workspace and select Remove Highlight From Control/s from the control menu. Synapse removes the highlight from the control in both the report Workspace and the Preview.

Examples:

  • If you select the Highlight Control/s option:
    • In the Patient/Study tab, enter some details in the Any Known Allergies field and then right-click the Any Known Allergies label. The Highlight Control/s menu displays. ClickHighlight Control/s. The field is highlighted in yellow.
  • If you clear the Highlight Control/s option:
    • In the Patient/Study tab, right-click the Any Known Allergies label. The Highlight Control/s menu displays. Click Remove Highlight Control/s. The field is no longer highlighted in yellow.

Results

If the Highlight control was used for a data grid or a graphic hotspot control, Synapse highlights the entire control; you cannot highlight specific fields or regions within a control.

If the Highlight controls are enabled when a report is saved and the system is configured to save a PDF snapshot of a report when saving or promoting, Synapse highlights the applicable fields in the PDF.

Additional Information

You can use the Highlight control to manually toggle the highlight function on and off. This table provides a list of control types and indicates whether it supports highlighting and the type of highlighting that is used.
