Measuring Density Value on an Image

Introduction

Use the Density Value option to measure the density value of a pixel on an image. For example in a CT scan, you can measure density values of both the center of the lesion, as well as, the borders separately without averaging. Synapse dynamically updates the density value as you move the density tool.

Synapse uses pixel point values when determining density and uses the nearest pixel point value when you are not directly on the pixel point.

Steps

  1. Right-click the image to display a context menu.
  2. Select Density Value. The cursor changes to an eye dropper.
  3. Move the cursor to an area on the image and hold the left-mouse button to display a density value.
  4. Release the left-mouse button to exit the density tool operation.

Additional Options

Use any one of the following options to display the density value of a pixel on an image:

  • Click Density Value   on the icon menu.
  • Density keyboard shortcut: D + left-click.
