Searching for Synapse Chat Session Information

Introduction

There is no limit to the number of Synapse Chat sessions that you can actively participate in. Use the Search bar in the Synapse Chat window to easily locate a particular thread in a Synapse Chat session. You can search your active Synapse Chat sessions by chat title or by the names of other chat session participants.

Steps

  1. Click Synapse Chat . The Synapse Chat window displays.
  2. Place your cursor in the Search bar and do one of the following:

If you want to do this...

Choose this option...

Search for an active participant.

Type to enter the name of the individual user or the role.

Search for an active chat session based on its title.

Type to enter the name of the chat session.

Delete the text you have entered and enter new search criteria.

Highlight the text you have entered and backspace to remove it.

View the chat sessions again after you are finished searching.

Highlight the text you have entered and backspace to remove it.

Note:

If you close Synapse Chat, you can open it from the Worklist, PowerJacket, or the Viewer.

Results

  • If the search criteria you entered matches an existing chat session, the chat thread containing the search criteria displays in the chat thread panel.
  • If the search criteria you entered does not match an existing chat session, the following text displays in the in the chat thread panel: No Messages.
