Using Study Search

Introduction

The Study Search feature on the Viewer toolbar allows you to easily search a study, whether you are using a PACS (Worklist) or RIS (web query) workflow. Once you are finished viewing the study, you can easily return to the original study.

Steps

  1. Click Study Search . The Study Search window displays.
  2. Optional: Add additional datasources to search in. See Modifying Global Worklist Datasources
  3. Use any of the available filters to define and refine your search. The number of returned studies displays at the bottom of the Study Search window.
  • Patient Name
  • Accession Number
  • Patient ID
  • Gender
  • Date of Birth
  • Modality
  • Study Date Time
  • Datasource
  • Referring Physician
  • Patient External ID

Note:

  • Searched studies might not be synced with other applications. You must ensure that the information and images that display within Synapse are from the same patient as the one displayed in the third-party application. The same must be ensured when returning to the previous study.
  • Studies that originate from an Epiphany datasource display in the list (of studies) but are disabled and cannot be selected.
  1. Select the study you want to view. The Study Search window automatically closes when the new study is opened.
  2. Optional: Click the x at the top right of the Study Search window or click the Study Search icon again to close it without performing a search.
  3. To return to your original study, click the Time Warp back button to return to the original study.
