Window Level Overview

Introduction

The window level adjusts the brightness and contrast of an image. You can manually change the window level through the context menu.

When you adjust the window level of a mixed modality series, such as a series that contains both PT and CT images, Synapse applies the window level adjustment to the images of the same modality. For example, when you adjust the window level of a CT image, Synapse only applies the window level adjustment to CT images.

Options for Changing Window Level

You can change the window level in the following ways:

  • Configure window level in User Settings. See Configuring Mouse Settings.
  • Use the context menu, window level icon, the mouse, or keyboard shortcuts to change the window level for a specific viewport.
