Aligning the Base and Overlay Series

Introduction

You can adjust an overlay to match the same anatomical location as the base.

If two series do not have the same Frame of Reference (FOR), Synapse automatically invokes manual registration as indicated by Rotation . If you need to adjust the overlay and the base series for series with the same FOR, use the context menu to enter manual registration.  

Prerequisite

The two series must be fused. See Applying Fusion to Series.

Steps

  1. Optional: If the fused series is not in manual registration mode, select 3D > Fusion Registration. Synapse displays Rotation .
  2. Do any of the following steps:

    If you want to do this...

    Complete these steps...

    Reposition the overlay image with pan.

    • Click and hold the mouse button to pan overlay image.
    • Move the overlay to the correct anatomical location.

    Scroll the overlay series to the correct anatomical location.

    • Use the mouse wheel to scroll the overlay to the anatomical image.

    Rotate the series overlay.

    • Click and hold the mouse button on Rotation .
    • Drag the overly to the correct rotation.

    Note: The center of rotation of the overlay image is the center of the viewport and not the overlay image center.

  3. To exit manual registration, press the esc key or right-click the image to open the context menu.
