Configuring Extra Series

Introduction

Synapse treats all duplicate series (except the most recently acquired) as an Extra Series. An Extra Series is defined as a study having more than the expected reading protocols necessary for displaying a study.

You can configure the following settings by modality in the Extra Series settings tab:

User Settings > Reading Protocols > Extra Series

Steps

Modify the following settings as needed.
When you have finished configuring all settings, click Close to apply and save setting changes.
Repeat these steps to customize the Extra Series alerts for additional modalities.

Extra Series Modality Settings

Select a modality type from the Extra Series modality drop-down list:

BD (default)	NM
CR/DX	PT
CT	RF
IO	US
MG	XA
MR	Other

After selecting a modality, make selections for the related settings listed in the following tables.

Display Extra Series Alert Settings

Setting	Description
Display 'extra series' alert for	If enabled, Synapse displays the extra series alert for current and prior studies. This setting is enabled by default.
Current study	If enabled, Synapse displays the Extra Series alert for the current study only.
Current and prior studies	If enabled, Synapse displays the Extra Series alert for current and prior studies. This setting is enabled by default.

Results

Synapse automatically saves any updated options and displays the following message in the bottom left corner of the window: Successfully saved.

Synapse displays the following message that you must take the following action to apply the settings: Refresh the Synapse browser window for settings to apply.
