Exporting and Printing Images
Introduction
Synapse provides you with several options for exporting and printing images and series from the Viewer using the context menu and keyboard shortcuts.
Exporting
Synapse supports these file types for exporting images:
- AVI
- JPEG
- MPEG
- PNG
Keep the following in mind when exporting images:
- To export images using either the AVI or MPEG file type, you must select at least two images.
- AVI and MPEG videos created from a small number of images might not play properly in some video players. Consider increasing the number of images or export as PNG or JPEG files instead.
- You can export up to 1000 images in a single export. Exporting additional images requires multiple exports. You could experience a delay when exporting a large number of images.
Once exported from the Synapse Viewer, you can print files for supported file types using standard operating system print function. You can also print to a DICOM printer. See Printing DICOM Images.
Printing
Synapse supports printing PDF files. You can print other file types, such as JPEG and PNG, using third-party applications that support that file type.
Keep the following in mind when printing PDFs:
- PDF paper size defaults to US Letter dimensions. However, Fujifilm support engineers can change the paper size to A4.
- If you use the SHIFT + P shortcut, you must close the Adobe print dialog box before opening another study; otherwise the print option might not work for the other study, when invoking SHIFT + P again.

Attempt True Size
Attempt True Size only applies to PDF files and is only available for 1x1 Tile Format. Use this option to create a life-size image with true-size support.
Note:
- An incorrect paper size could distort true size and inaccurately render the image.
- Printer settings related to Scaling, such as Fit or Custom Scale, can also affect the accuracy of Zoom to True Size. To ensure True Size, select Actual Size or Custom Scale (100).
