Managing Digital Subtraction Angiography

Introduction

Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) enables the Synapse Viewer to utilize and apply DSA to x-ray angiography (XA) images. DSA is a feature in which a multiframe dataset and one or more particular frames of that series can be referred to as a Mask, as defined in the DICOM header. Other frames have that Mask image subtracted from it.

By default, this feature is enabled for images with specific DICOM header information, and can be disabled for those images by selecting it in the right-click context menu.

Note:

This feature only supports Average Subtraction utilizing the information defined in the DICOM header.

The bookmarking feature is disabled for DSA images.

Saving a Presentation State with DSA

When you save a presentation state, the current DSA state is saved as part of the presentation state and will be set accordingly, as part of the default initial state for subsequent reloads of the image. See Saving Presentation State.
