Using Implant Suppression

Introduction

Use implant suppression to reduce the brightness of a breast implant for 2D Mammography and MG Tomosynthesis images.

Implant suppression persists for the following:

  • Snapshots
  • Image exports
  • Printing

Note:

  • If you bookmark an image, implant suppression is not saved when you reload a study.
  • If you save a presentation state, implant suppression is not applied.

You can apply implant suppression to just one image or to an entire study. See MG Series Settings for information on how to apply implant suppression to all images in a study.

Steps

  1. Right-click the image to display a context menu.
  2. Select Image Presets >Suppress Implant to enable or disable breast implant suppression:

    Description

    Indicates that implant suppression is on for an image or study.

    Note: When you apply Implant Suppression, Synapse might change artificial objects brightness in an image.

    Indicates implant suppression is off for an image or study.

Additional Options

Use any one of the following options to toggle implant suppression:

  • From the icon menu, click Suppress Implant .
  • Use the active overlay to toggle the Implant Suppression on/off .
  • Keyboard shortcut: U
