Accessing MPR View

Introduction

MPR view changes a series into reformatted axial, sagittal, or coronal views that Synapse displays. Use the specialized context menu options within the reformatted series.

You can configure your preferred 3D projection when you initially open an MPR series. See Configuring MPR/3D Settings.

Note:

Use only with CT, MR, NM, and PT modalities.

Steps

  1. Right-click the image to display a context menu.
  2. Use any of the following options to open an MPR/3D view:

    If you want to ...

    Do this ...

    Show a 2x2 tile with generated axial, sagittal or coronal MPR views.

    Click MPR/3D > Quadrant View.

    Show a 1x1 tile of the reformatted axial view.

    Click MPR/3D > Axial.

    Show a 1x1 tile of the reformatted sagittal view.

    Click MPR/3D > Sagittal.

    Show a 1x1 tile view of the reformatted coronal view.

    Click MPR/3D > Coronal.

  3. Use any of the following methods to scroll through the images:

If you want to ...

Do this ...

Cycle through the image planes: oblique, axial, coronal, and sagittal.

Click MPR/3D > Cycle Orthogonal Plane.

Cycle through MPR projection mode options: MIP, MinIP, and AvIP.

Click MPR/3D > Cycle Projection.

Rotate the oblique view.

Show the image plane with no slab thickness, as rendered by Multiplanar Reconstruction (MPR).

Click MPR/3D > MPR.

Show the image plane rendered by the Maximum Intensity Projection (MIP).

Click MPR/3D > MIP.

Show the image plane rendered by the Minimum Intensity Projection (MinIP).

Click MPR/3D > MinIP.

Show the image plane averaged by Average Intensity Projection (AvIP).

Click MPR/3D > AvIP.

Change the slab thickness.

Click MPR/3D > Input Thickness.

Return to the 2D view.

Click MPR/3D > MPR On/Off.
