Creating Additional DICOM RP Rule Cards
Introduction
A DICOM reading protocol (RP) rule card is comprised of a set of DICOM property rules. You can create multiple DICOM RP rule cards for a reading protocol in the Viewer or in the Reading Protocol Editor. As new rule cards are added, Synapse dynamically updates the viewport rule hierarchy. However, you can also drag and drop rule cards within a viewport to change their order.
The following guidelines apply to each of the methods used for creating additional DICOM RP rule cards:
- A viewport can have a maximum of six rule cards. If a viewport contains the maximum number of rule cards and you attempt to add another rule card, an error dialog box displays; you can choose not to display the dialog box again.
- If you add a rule Type that is either All Images or Bookmark series, Synapse automatically saves that rule as the lowest (last) rule.
- Each viewport can have either All Images or Bookmark Images, but not both.
- For Series Contains and Series Does Not Contain:
- If multiple words are used in the Series Contains or the Series Does Not Contain fields, they are treated as an AND operation.
- For Series Contains, Synapse matches the content in that field and displays the best matching series.
- For Series Does Not Contain, Synapse ensures there is no match for all items listed in this field.
- If multiple words are used in the Series Contains or the Series Does Not Contain fields, they are treated as an AND operation.
