Reading Protocol Management Options
Introduction
Synapse provides several options for managing reading protocols. The following topics provide detailed information about how to use these options.

Managing Reading Protocols from the RP Directory
The RP Directory provides a list of all reading protocols. You can sort column lists by clicking on the column headers. The RP Directory can contain the following reading protocol types:
- Factory
- System
- User
From the RP Directory, you can do any of the following:
- Delete one or more reading protocols. See Deleting a Reading Protocol.
- Enable or disable one or more reading protocols. See Enabling and Disabling Reading Protocols.
- Import one or more reading protocols. See Importing Reading Protocols.
- Export one or more reading protocols. See Exporting Reading Protocols and Configuring Your Browser for Reading Protocol Export.
- Make a particular reading protocol a default. See Setting a Reading Protocol as a Default.
- Save a reading protocol as a system reading protocol, so it is available to everyone. See Copying Reading Protocols to the System.
Synapse provides Query By Example (QBE) search options to help you refine your search for particular reading protocols in the Reading Protocols Directory. However, advanced QBE search operators, such as / or &, are not available. To refine your search, click inside of an RP Directory heading field and enter text string. See Filtering Search Results.
