Logging in Using OIDC Authentication Providers

Introduction

If SSO is configured for your site to authenticate using one of the supported OpenID Connect (OIDC) authentication providers, the Synapse PACS SSO screen includes a separate External Log In section that contains a link to the supported OIDC authentication provider login screen. Synapse currently supports the following OIDC services:

  • Azure
  • OKTA

Steps

  1. To log into Synapse:
    1. Click the External Log In link configured for your site to open a browser window for the OIDC authentication provider's login screen.
    2. Enter your login credentials.
  2. To log out of Synapse, follow the steps in Logging out of Synapse Manually.

Results

When you log into the OIDC authentication provider service, you are automatically logged into Synapse PACS, and the Worklist displays. Synapse creates a new user the first time you log in. The username you logged in with displays in the username field located on the top-right corner of the Worklist or PowerJacket window and will be the username each time you log in.

When you log out of Synapse, you continue to be logged into the OIDC authentication provider server.
