Protocol Panel Overview

Introduction

Synapse allows you to perform, view, and manage protocol measurements using the Protocol Panel. The Protocol Panel serves as the primary interface for performing modality-specific protocol measurements. Any changes made in Clinical Reporting Application are reflected in the Protocol Panel.

The Protocol Panel icon only displays in the Viewer toolbar if an Analysis Configuration is defined for the current procedure. Synapse dynamically retrieves the Analysis Configuration from the Advanced Reporting (AR) server based on the Procedure Code associated with the current study and only returns information that is pertinent to that study.

Use the Protocol Panel to initiate measurements and capture measured values for predefined measurement protocols and calculations based on anatomy or the imaging protocol. You can also use the Protocol Panel to:

  • View individual protocol steps within a protocol group.
  • Skip a protocol step.
  • View a specific protocol measurement in an image using the Show Points option.
  • View all instances of a protocol step using the Instance Selector option. The Instance Selector button is only enabled when there are two or more instances for a protocol step.

The Protocol Panel supports the following image types:

  • 2D Echo
  • Doppler
  • M-Mode

The Protocol Panel displays on the right side of the Viewer window and contains a list of currently defined protocol measurements that are used for clinical imaging modalities. Use the scroll bar to navigate the Protocol Panel.
