Reference Lines Overview
Introduction
If a CT, PT, or MR study includes the DICOM information for reference lines, the reference lines display when you open the study. By default, reference lines display as First and Last. You can change reference line display options using the context menu or Reference Lines user settings. See Options for Configuring Reference Lines.
When you select a series, Synapse displays the corresponding image reference lines for the reference series. The lines depict the selected image location and position on the reference series. The cross-reference is the line number that displays in the lower right corner of each image (IM: X).
For CT, PT, and MR studies, reference lines illustrate the relationship between images in different series:
- Reference lines are shared across 2D and a single view in 3D such as axial, coronal, and sagittal.
Options for Configuring Reference Lines
You can customize the display of reference lines by:
- Configuring the Reference Lines user setting options. See Configuring Cross Reference Settings.
- Selecting a display option from the context menu Display Formats > Reference Lines submenu. See Using Reference Lines.
- Changing the reference lines color setting option. See Configuring Overlay Settings.
