Using Reference Lines

Introduction

Reference lines are only used in CT, PT, and MR modality studies. They provide a view link from a selected series location and position to other reference series using the image number and cross-reference lines. If a study includes the DICOM information for reference lines, the reference lines display when you open the study. By default, reference lines display as First and Last.

The following table describes how to change reference lines display options, for all studies displayed in the viewer, using context menu options. If you manually change the default display option from the context menu, when you close the Viewer, Synapse reverts to the default option.

Use the Reference Lines user settings to customize the display of reference lines for individual users or specific roles defined by your System Administrator. You can choose to display and dynamically update reference lines during dynamic scrolling, middle mouse flythrough, and cine. See Configuring Cross Reference Settings.
