Configuring Cross Reference Settings

Introduction

You can configure the following settings in the Cross Reference settings tab:

Steps

  1. Modify the following settings as needed.
  2. When you have finished configuring all settings, click Close to apply and save setting changes.

Enable IntelliLink Settings

If a study does not have a Frame of Reference (FOR), IntelliLink is not available. For additional information, see IntelliLink Overview.

Setting

Description

Enable IntelliLink (CT/PET/MR)

If enabled, IntelliLink is automatically available when you open a CT, PT, or MR study with the same FOR.

This setting is disabled by default.

Propagate Zoom and Relative W/L Settings

Setting

Description

Propagate zoom and relative W/L to all images

If enabled, Synapse propagates zoom and relative Window Level to all images.

This setting is disabled by default.

Enable IntelliScroll Settings

Synapse supports IntelliScroll for all modality types. In User Settings, you can enable IntelliScroll and select default options for BT, CT, MG, MR, PET, and US modalities. For additional information, see:

Note:

  • Synapse supports IntelliScroll across tomosynthesis series for MG studies.
  • For 2D series within MG studies, Synapse supports IntellliScroll Sync by Prior.
  • For US studies, Synapse supports Sync by Prior and Sync by R-Wave.

Setting

Description

IntelliScroll

  • Select a modality from the drop-down list to display the options available for that modality.
  • When you select the Enable IntelliScroll check box for that modality, the associated options become available under Default Option:
    • BT - Sync by Index
    • CT - Same FOR (default), Same Orientation, Sync by Index
    • MG - Sync by Prior
    • MR - Same FOR (default), Same Orientation, Sync by Index
    • PET - Same FOR (default), Same Orientation, Sync by Index
    • US - Sync by Index, Sync by R-Wave (default)
  • Select the required option for each modality.
  • Note: Synapse highlights the options selected in the user settings in the context menu when you are in a study within the viewer. You can change your selection or turn off IntelliScroll from the context menu while viewing an image from a study for that current session.

Enable Link Zoom/Pan Settings

When enabled, Link Zoom/Pan displays all of the linked images with the same physical size panned to the same location. For additional information, see:

Enable Link Zoom/Pan for

Select one of the following options:

  • MG (default)
  • CT
  • PET
  • MR

Link different view orientations

If enabled, Synapse links different view orientations (sagittal, axial, coronal, and oblique) when Link Zoom Pan is used.

If disabled, the same orientation is used for Link Zoom Pan. Only images with the same orientation zoom and pan together.

This option is enabled by default.

Reference Lines Settings

Reference lines show relationships between images in different series. Reference lines automatically display when you open a CT, PT, or MR study.

If you manually change the default display option from the context menu, when you close the Viewer, Synapse reverts to the default option.

Use this setting to display and dynamically update reference lines during dynamic scrolling, middle mouse flythrough, and cine.

  • Select Display reference lines during scrolling and cine.
  • Note: When this setting is enabled, scrolling performance might be impacted.

Use this setting to change the default Reference Lines setting.

  • Select one of the following options:
    • None
    • Single
    • First and last (default)

Results

Synapse automatically saves any updated options and displays the following message in the bottom left corner of the window: Successfully saved.

Synapse displays the following message that you must take the following action to apply the settings: Refresh the Synapse browser window for settings to apply.
